Itinerary

Day 1. Historical prides in the homeland of wine

Pick up from your hotel in Tbilisi. Drive to Kakheti region – the cradle of wine. Arrival to Wine House in Kakhetian village where you will not only learn about Georgian wine history and making process while visiting Wine museum but as well will participate in masterclasses of baking Kakhetian bread in a very special way and making traditional Georgian sweets, called churchkhela. This delicacy, originated from Kakheti region and made from nuts (usually walnuts) and grape juice, is very popular in all the Georgia and nowadays proudly called Georgian snickers. And of-course, program includes tasting of local wines and traditional lunch from fresh local products*. After lunch head to Gremi architectural complex – former important town in the Silk Road and Nekresi monastery, located on a tophill opening an amazing views to Alazani Valley. Stop at Bodbe monastery. Arrival to Sighnaghi – the most beautiful town of Kakheti region, called Kakhetain emerald and ”town of love”. Dinner and wine tasting at winery ”Pheasant’s tears”. Overnight in Sighnaghi.
*During the months of September-October additionally for extra cost can be organized rtveli – participation in grapes harvest and wine making in traditional ways.

Day 2. From town of love to impressive caves monastery

After breakfast excursion in Sighnaghi (if not done yesterday) and visit to The museum of Sighnaghi where part of famous Georgian painter Niko Pirosmani collection is held. Drive to David Gareja Cave monastery – founded in the 6th Century by one of Thirteen Assyrian monks, this rock-hewn complex, stands at Georgia-Azerbaijan border, surrounded by impressive dessert views. In the evening back to Tbilisi. Drop of at your hotel in Tbilisi.
