Legends

Who could even think that it is possible to visit the place (not only in Greece) where old Greek legends were born. Probably many of you heard a legend about the Golden fleece that Jason and the Argonauts went to find in Colchis– nowadays known as Kolkheti (western part of Georgia). Or the legend about Prometheus, who was chained by Zeus in the Caucasus as punishment for teaching mankind knowledge of fire.In the Georgian epic, Prometheus is known as Amirani, who was tied to a rock on the side of Mt Kazbek so that a vulture could feed upon his liver, which was never diminished, though continually devoured. Lets not forget the legend about Tbilisi, where King Vakhtang I Gorgasali during his hunting found hot springs. He was so impressed with them, that decided to cut down the forest and build a city on the location. I hope you have heard those, if not, we wont spoil. Our guides will tell during your visit.
