After an early breakfast, embark on the day trip to some of Georgia’s most impressive historical sites. First, stop for a tour of the Rabati Fortress. The fortress and its surrounding structures were extensively rebuilt between 2011 and 2012, opening up to visitors.

The complex was originally a fortress designed to protect Georgia’s southern borders. A strong earthquake in 1283 exposed 600 rooms, including churches, chapels, residential cells, storerooms, baths, a refectory, treasuries, and libraries. Secret passages linking these rooms, along with remnants of the plumbing and irrigation system, are still intact. The complex extends 50 meters into the rock and rises to 13 stories in height.
